BAND V2: Fall Detection
Fall detection technology bridges the gap between an accident occurring and a supervisor being notified. The SlateSafety BAND V2 can be enabled to detect falls and send alerts to notification contacts.
How to enable fall detection?
The fall detection feature can be enabled on any Loadout. Loadouts can be found on the Organization Page under "Loadouts." Please note that only Bands that are updated to 2.4.0 or greater will be able to trigger fall detection alerts.
Note: The Fall Detection Alert feature is labeled "Experimental" because it can lead to false positive alerts. If you enable fall detection, prepare to receive fall detection alerts that may have been triggered errantly.
How does fall detection work?
The BAND V2 uses accelerometry to detect the physical signs of a fall — a sudden downward movement and a hard impact.
Who can receive fall detection notifications?
Any alert contacts that are configured to receive notifications for the user or band that detected the fall will receive notifications. Falls are High Severity Alerts, so the notification contact will need to not filter out High Severity Alerts in order to receive Fall Detection alerts. Just like with all other notifications, once a fall is detected, the BAND V2 sends a real-time alert to the SlateSafety Cloud, which will forward the alert to notification contacts.
