What is Band Link?

Band Link is a feature on SlateSafety Go that enables connectivity from a BAND V2 to a smart phone to the SlateSafety Cloud.

Who can benefit from Band Link?

Band Link can be used by any SlateSafety user that has access to the SlateSafety Go app and has an assigned BAND V2. However, for most, Band Link is not necessary because they can use a direct cellular connection from their BAND V2 to the cloud or a connection from their BAND V2 to a nearby GATEWAY V2.

You can benefit the most from Bank Link if:

1. Your facility has inadequate cell connection and you cannot install GATEWAY V2s, but there is WiFi available. In this case, Band Link can use the WiFi connection on your smart phone.
2. BAND V2 does not support the cellular carriers in your country and you cannot install GATEWAY V2s. In this case, Band Link can use the WiFi connection or local cell connection on your smart phone.

Note: Band Link works by using the internet connection on your smart phone. If your smart phone does not have an internet connection, then Band Link will not be able to transmit your Band data to the SlateSafety cloud.

How do I use Band Link?

To use Band Link:

1. Open the SlateSafety Go app on your smart phone. SlateSafety Go is available on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
2. Open the menu, and click on the page called "Band Link".

3. Your phone will start scanning for your assigned BAND V2. Make sure that you are wearing your BAND V2 nearby. Note: the Band must be assigned to you in order for it to appear.

4. Once your assigned Band is found. Press the green "Connect" button.

5. You will be prompted to "Copy and Connect" the passcode in order to pair to the device. Tap "Copy and Connect".
   
   

6. Tap and hold the pairing prompt that comes up and press paste. Then, tap "Pair".

7. Wait for the connection to be established. For your first Band Link connection, it may take up to 1 minute to establish connection. Sequential connections will be quicker.

8. Once connected, you will see a red "Disconnect" button. This means that your Band Link has been established.
