What are Sustained Alerts?

Sustained Alerts are a feature available on BAND V2s that helps ensure ongoing safety risks are continuously brought to your attention. Unlike a one-time alert, Sustained Alerts are triggered when a threshold continues to be exceeded even after the initial alert has already been sent.

Why Are Sustained Alerts Important?

Sustained Alerts provide increased visibility into persistent high-risk conditions, ensuring that the issue doesn’t get lost or forgotten after the first notification. This is especially useful in environments where risks may continue for extended periods or take time to resolve (e.g., prolonged heat exposure, elevated heart rate, etc.).

How Do Sustained Alerts Work?

  1. Initial Alert Triggered

When a safety threshold (e.g., core temperature, heart rate) is exceeded, BAND V2 sends an alert as usual.

  2. Condition Persists

If the same threshold remains exceeded for a sustained period of time (defined in the Loadout), a Sustained Alert is triggered. Sustained alerts will continue to trigger at the defined time interval as long as the threshold remains exceeded.

How Do I Configure Sustained Alerts?

You can set Sustained Alerts in the Loadout settings.

  1. Login to SlateSafety and navigate to Organization > Loadouts.
  2. Click Edit on the Loadout. A Loadout form will popup.
  3. Inside Use Custom Thresholds, there will be an Alert Thresholds table.
  4. As shown below, there is an option for Retrigger. If you select After 5 minutes, then the Band will receive direction to trigger a Sustained Alert every 5 minutes that the Band is above the threshold.

Note: Sustained Alerts will only work on Bands with firmware version 2.5.0 or greater. You can determine which version your Bands are running on Organization > Bands > Version. Contact SlateSafety support for questions.
