The alert cooldown period is the minimum time during which alert contacts will not receive repeated notifications involving the same user and same alert threshold.

In the interest of not spamming alert contacts, the SlateSafety app has an alert cooldown period. The alert cooldown period is the minimum time during which alert contacts will not receive repeated notifications involving the same user and same alert threshold.

Examples:

  • If there is no alert cooldown period and an alert threshold of "Heart Rate greater than 120 BPM for 1 minute", then when one user maintains a heart rate above 120 BPM for 60 minutes, then alert contacts will be notified every minute that the user is exceeding the threshold.
  • If there is a 10 minute alert cooldown period and an alert threshold of "Heart Rate greater than 120 BPM for 1 minute", then when one user maintains a heart rate above 120 BPM for 60 minutes, then alert contacts will be notified every 10 minutes that the user is exceeding the threshold.

The table below shows when alerts would be sent assuming there is one user continuously above an alert threshold for 60 minutes.
