SlateSafety Go Local Mode
On the SlateSafety Go app for Android and iOS, you are able to view BAND V2s locally — no need for an Internet connection.
How do I use Local Mode?
- If you have not already done so, install SlateSafety Go from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Open SlateSafety Go and tap Login.
- Then logout, by tapping the menu (top left button) and Logout.
- You should arrive back to the login page. This time, tap Use Local Mode.
- You should now see the Live Page on Local Mode. If any nearby BAND V2s are being worn, then they should stream data.
Why is Local Mode not showing any data?
- Ensure that you have Bluetooth enabled on your smart phone or tablet.
- Ensure that you have given the SlateSafety Go app permissions to use Bluetooth. On an Apple device, this is located in Settings > Apps > SlateSafety Go.
- Ensure that there is at least one BAND V2 nearby being worn.
- Ensure that you have recently logged in to SlateSafety Go.
- Ensure that BLE is enabled on your BAND V2s. This is located in the Loadout. To find this, login to SlateSafety > Organization > Loadouts > Edit the Loadout the BAND V2 has configured.
What is Local Mode?
Local Mode is an option on the SlateSafety Go app login screen to view local BAND V2 data. If you sign in using Local Mode, then you will see data from nearby BAND V2s stream in real-time.
Note: you will not see data from BAND V2s that are far from your smart phone or tablet.
What are some common use cases for using Local Mode?
Examples:
- You are in a room or remote area with no Cellular or GATEWAY V2 coverage so the BAND V2s will not be able to transmit data to the cloud in real-time.
- You want to filter the live stream data to only nearby BAND V2s so that you can see the physiological status of only those nearby to you.
What is the range of SlateSafety Go streaming BAND V2s?
In typical settings, the range is 200 feet (60 meters). The actual range is dependent on the radiofrequency (RF) environment.
I can only see Band Numbers when using Local Mode — is there any way to see user names instead?
Yes there is a way to still see user names when using Local Mode.
- Login to SlateSafety Go (press the blue Login button).
- Tap on the Menu button (top left)
- Tap My Settings
- Then enable Store Band Assignments
- Now, the most recent Band assignments will be stored locally on your smart phone or tablet, so the next time you use Local Mode, those Band assigments will populate instead of Band numbers. Note: these Band assignments can become stale; to update them, you will need to login to SlateSafety Go again.
